“My belief is that a preventive lifestyle is the key to becoming healthy and staying healthy.”
My name is Petra De Ryck, from my practice BodySwitch Amsterdam-Zuid I help my clients to get rid of their problems in a natural way. Frankly, I have not always been interested in healthy food. But about 10 years ago I made a dramatic change. There were actually 2 moments in my life that forced me to do so:
a busy job where I did my best to walk past myself in combination with 2 young children and a move abroad;
- a brain haemorrhage at the age of 40.
It was obvious things had to change!
Thankful for a second chance in life I started to study health, prevention and lifestyle medicine. The more I immersed myself in this, the more I knew that this was my new career path.
I decided to participate in the Holistic Health Coach training at Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York. This holistic approach was entirely me. I then followed a course in Functional Medicine (FDN) where the emphasis is on prevention and looking for the deeper cause of chronic medical conditions.
In the meantime, I moved to the Netherlands and started to specialize in hormonal imbalances (Trainer – Ralph Moorman – hormone factor) and I also obtained my accreditation as an orthomolecular therapist.
Wanting to be a “lifelong learner” I will start my kPNI training in 2020. kPNI is the practical application of science that deals with the interaction between all different systems (including the psyche, the nervous system, the hormonal system, the immune system) and their influence on health.
Over the past few years I have given various workshops / lectures on hormones and nutrition and I have also helped individual clients with their health problems. From the beginning of 2019 I work as an orthomolecular therapist at Bodyswitch and from January 2020 I also work from my own BodySwitch practice in Amsterdam.
