Two years ago I started to feel very tired and lame. I was in a busy phase in my life with small children and a tough job. The doctor thought I was dealing with a burnout. I started to slow down and work less per week. Unfortunately, this did not help me: the complaints only got worse. Fortunately, through the treatment at BodySwitch, I found out the cause of my complaints. I have had to thoroughly adjust my lifestyle and diet, but I feel fit and energetic again.
Treatment plan fatigue problems
Step 1: Analysis
We start the treatment with an extensive analysis. In order to find out where your complaints come from, we need to know a lot about you. We collect this information by:
- an extensive online questionnaire
- a food diary
- an extensive intake consult
- additional laboratory tests (blood and stool)
By analyzing all available information, we gain insight into the factors that can play a role in causing the complaints. Chronic inflammation in the intestines, stress and a compromised immune system often play a big role in being tired all the time.
Step 2: Personal treatment plan
We make a personal treatment plan for you based on the results of the analysis phase. This is based on the four pillars: nutrition, supplementation, exercise and mindset.
The treatment plan focuses on addressing the factors causing the disease. With the right nutrition and supplementation, the immune system is calmed and harmful substances removed.
The correct diet supported by supplements prevents further stimulation of the immune system. The inflammations in the intestines are calmed down and the nutritional deficiencies replenished.
You usually feel more energetic and fitter again quickly.
Step 3: Guidance
The results of your treatment partly depend on your motivation and discipline. To guide you in this, our specialists pay a lot of attention to coaching and knowledge transfer. We also provide extensive exercise advice, which is specifically tailored to your personal situation.
We regularly schedule follow-up consultations to properly monitor progress. We discuss the interim results with you and, if necessary, we have additional laboratory tests performed. If there is reason to do so, we will adjust the treatment plan in the meantime.
Chronic fatigue syndrome and fatigue problems: background and insights
In almost all cases of chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic, low-grade inflammation of the intestines is involved. This can be caused by many factors. In chronic inflammation of the intestines, our immune system is continuously active. This consumes a lot of energy, causing fatigue and exhaustion.
Chronic low-grade inflammation in the gut alone is not enough to develop chronic fatigue syndrome. There is almost always an acute stress-increasing moment when this condition manifests itself. An infection (bacteria or virus) is common, but sometimes also after acute exhaustion (for example, having made a very intensive or sustained exercise effort with little training).
A well-functioning immune system is indispensable for acute infections. If the immune system is activated chronically, it can be harmful to the body. To kill harmful invaders, the immune system produces toxic substances. These can also destroy your own body cells.
Damage to the body's own cells then triggers the activation of the immune system. This creates a negative spiral and this problem maintains itself.
